Ashley Ham Pong

Ashley Ham Pong received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and her Juris Doctorate from the Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island. Ashley is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, New York, Massachusetts, and before the Supreme Court of the United States. Ashley is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

A dual citizen of Canada and the U.S., Ashley has specialized in immigration throughout her legal career. Prior to joining Montagut & Sobral, Ashley was the supervising attorney for the Detained Children’s Program at the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition, a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. A significant amount of her work involved advocating on behalf of unaccompanied immigrant children facing deportation from within the confines of immigration detention.

Ashley has authored several published works, including two practice manuals distributed nationwide as well as a law review article in the Washington and Lee University School of Law’s Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice. Legal scholars have cited her work throughout the country and Ashley has appeared in the media on several occasions as an immigration expert. As an expert panelist, she regularly trains the legal community on children’s issues.

At Montagut and Sobral, Ashley has represented clients before local state juvenile courts, immigration courts and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Ashley’s areas of expertise include Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, asylum and similar fear-based relief, U/T-visas, naturalization, family-based petitions, waivers of inadmissibility, bond and deportation defense, among others.

Ashley is fluent in Spanish and French.
